The wide-open spaces of the American Midwest were formative for Heath’s early awareness of large-scale landscapes and helped him develop a deep appreciation for place. Relocating to the Jackson Hole area immediately after graduating from the University of Arkansas only furthered that sense of awe in what has become home for him and his family over the past several decades. You can find him along the banks of a valley drainage with a five-weight hoping for a rise, on a family excursion into the wilderness, or responding to a call for service in his duties as a volunteer firefighter. Heath relishes the opportunity to engage with others to chart a path forward, no matter the scale.

Jason’s interest in plants and trees started at a young age, walking around the forests of West Virginia with his father and grandfather. He explored ideas about the influence of nature using any available drawing implements and building materials. The practice and profession of Landscape Architecture presented the perfect opportunity to blend his loves of drawing, math, and the natural world. After graduating with his degree from West Virginia University, Jason worked for a time in the field of urban planning and then moved to Jackson in 2001 with a head and heart primed for adventure. He loves developing unique concepts with his clients, ultimately creating landscapes inspired by his surroundings – beautiful, resilient and lasting.

Born to an architect father and a gardening mother, Walker’s love for both the built environment and the natural one developed at a young age. He has traveled America extensively, enamored with the vastly different landscapes, vistas, climates, and cultures before settling down with his family in Jackson, WY. With stories to tell in nearly every state, nothing compares to the experience of waking up each morning in the Tetons. As a musician, farmer, and landscape designer he has always been reactive to nature’s call. His spirit, driven to find his own deep connection with nature, has grown into a desire to connect others with the natural world. It is this spirit that led him to Landscape Architecture. He couldn’t imagine practicing this craft in better company than here at Agrostis, Inc. among the spruces, lodgepole pines, sagebrush, and western sky.

In many ways Jared’s life has been a continuous evolution from childhood to adulthood. He grew up learning about trees and prairie grasses in his grandparents’ park, hiking through the forest at his house with his dog, and drafting plans for building cabinets in his father’s woodshop. Today those experiences have evolved to form the professional passion for Landscape Architecture. A love for all things wild, an endless desire for learning, tinkering, and building systems has molded Jared into the designer that he is today. At Agrostis Jared brings his passion and expertise from his life experiences to each project, finding innovative and unique solutions inspired by the world around him.
